The “standard’ tip is about $10 per person per day ($50 for a 5 day cruise) - dropped off in the TIP BOX usually located near the reception areas OR collected by the group leader and given to the Purser or Cruise Director. These tips are shared amongst all the cruise staff. Most ships employ an additional person called the “River Guide”. These guides are not members of the ship’s crew but are hired separately for their knowledge of English and their knowledge of local port stops, traditions and customs. They are the ones that will hold lectures on board about the passing countryside and will oversee all of the shore excursions. They should be tipped separately and the “customary” tip is $2 or $3 per day or $10 or $15 per person for the cruise. Tips are NOT obligatory and are subject to your satisfaction – but your generosity will sincerely be appreciated.

Dinning
There is one restaurant on-board. For buffet breakfasts and lunches, open style seating is available. For sit down dinners, you may be assigned a table, which will be yours for the duration of the cruise. For those passengers wishing to share their table with friends and companions, it is important to make these arrangements during your first meal. Also, if you have special dietary requirements, you must advise our Guides of any such requirements at this time – requests will be honored as much as possible. Although our staff will attempt to honor all passenger requests for specific seating, we must reserve the right to assign and change meal seating based on the availability, passenger profile and capacity of the restaurant on your specific sailing date.
Our passengers will found the size and the quality of the meals hearty, filling and outright delightful! Your breakfast is a buffet featuring an arrangement of cereals, bread, cold cuts, eggs and homemade jams. At lunch, we serve either a buffet or a three course menu with a salad buffet and a four course menu is served at dinner with a choice of main meal. Water, tea, and coffee are included with all meals. Additional soft drinks, beverages and wine can be purchased from the waiters inexpensively. Unique Feature! Following our policy to immerse our clients into the culture and countries they are visiting, meals will often feature the national specialty of the country you are sailing though! Bon Apetit!
We recommend against drinking the tap water on the ship or anywhere on your route. Bottled water, available from the bar is inexpensive and a better option.
