Day by Day Cruise Itinerary

  • Vienna

    Ship arrival: embarkation Ship departure: – – –

    Arrival at Vienna airport.

    Transfer to the traditional Vienna Magic of Advent, the Rathausplatz becomes a shining fairytale land. Over the 150 sales stands used to offer Christmas gifts, Christmas tree decorations, sweets and warming drinks.

    Next stop will be Christmas village on Maria-Theresien-Platz, situated between the Museum of Fine Arts and the Natural History Museum where 70 stands offering traditional handicrafts and original gift ideas.


     Welcome drink, presentation of the captain and his crew.


  • Vienna

    Ship arrival: – – – Ship departure: 22:30


    After breakfast, half day city sightseeing tour of Vienna which gives an overall impression of the most historical sights.

    Starting with Hundertwasserhaus, with a short stop of approx. 20 minutes. Continuing to Belvedere Palace, where we make a waking tour around the Palace. Driving back to the city centre and around the Vienna Ringstrasse with the famous buildings such as the State Opera, the Parliament building, Burgtheater, Votiv-Church etc.

    Continue into the old centre of Vienna, to the St. Stephan’s Square where we get out of the busses and get an explaining regarding the St.Stephans Cathedral from the outside. Some minutes free time for the guests to go inside the Cathedral individually.

    Walk back to the bus, through the pedestrian zone, from St. Stephan’s Square, along Graben and Kohlmarkt to Michaela Square, to the entrance of the Hofburg (Imperial Palace). From this point, we continue by the Spanish Riding School to Albertina Square, where we will see the State Opera and the famous Hotel Sacher.


    After lunch visiting the Old Viennese Christmas Market on Freyung in the city center is committed to tradition. A Christmas market was held here as early as 1772; today, it is a place to buy handicrafts, glass decorations, traditional cribs and ceramics where the festive Advent music play in the background, all the time. Top-quality handicrafts can also be purchased a couple of steps further along at the Am Hof Advent Market.


    Optional:  Classical Vienna Concert (evening)

    30 years ago the musician and conductor Gert Hofbauer, founded the “Wiener Hofburg-Orchester” which plays compositions by Johann Strauss and W.A. Mozart. Performing will be done, by an orchestra of 40 professional musicians and international soloists of the Vienna State Opera. This is unique possibility to see the representation rooms of the Imperial palace (Fofburg) and to attend a concert of the Wiener Hofburg-Orchester. The orchestra is pleased to offer its guests an unforgettable Viennese evening, with the famous and beloved compositions by the “King of Waltz” Johann Strauss son, as well as arias of operas by W.A. Mozart, in the wonderful atmosphere of Vienna’s Imperial Palace (Hofburg).

  • Bratislava

    Ship arrival: 04:30 Ship departure: 16:00

    After breakfast on board, in the morning visit the Slovakian capital, Bratislava.

    Enjoy a two-hour panoramic tour by Old-timer XL (Bratislava’s unique touristic city train),  which takes you through the nicest area within the Old Town borders directly to the courtyard of the medieval Castle with a beautiful view of the entire city and its surroundings, into Petrzalka and father into Austria. 

    The sightseeing in the exclusively pedestrian zone will include the most important attractions – Michael’s Gate and Tower, St. Martin’s Cathedral, the Main Square with the Old Town Hall, the Slovak National Theater and many other attractive sites.

    Lunch on board.

    After lunch we have a short drive through the bridge to the UFO tower the elevator is taking the guests to the view point entrance. After a very nice and wide view of the surrounding in the restaurant there is prepared a soft drink or coffee at the cocktail bar. Dessert /French chocolate tart, pecans/ is included.

    This excursion takes apr. 2 hours.

    Continue sailing towards Budapest

    After lunch – wine tasting of some of the best ship’s wines, in the bar-with musical program.

    Late afternoon, ship will enter in lock Gabcikovo where guests will have opportunity to see the biggest lock in upper part of Danube, built in period 1997-1989, which consists of two main structures: a hydro-power plant and two lock chambers.

  • Budapest

    Ship arrival: 08:00 Ship departure: 19:30


    Bus city sightseeing tour of Budapest (maybe shorter then usual 2 – 2 ½ hours).

    Time to visit Great Market Hall, dating from the end of 19th century, where shopper appetite could explode: strings of red paprika and garlic, Hungarian salamis, sausages, hams and other meat products, fresh pastries, dairy products, Hungarian wines and pálinka, just will give you a lot of shopping ideas.


    In the afternoon the shopping tour at the end of the main pedestrian Váci street, just in the heart of the city, Vörösmarty Square turns into a festive market place. More than hundred cottage-style wooden stalls and two outdoor stages take over one of Budapest’s most attractive spots during the couple of weeks proceeding the end-of-the-year holidays. You can smell the scent of traditional honey cookies, mulled wine…

    Scandinavian Christmas Dinner.

    After dinner start sailing towards Mohach with unforgettable sightseeing of illuminated Budapest from the river side – Beautiful Christmas eve.

  • Mohacs, visiting Pecs

    Ship arrival: 08:00 Ship departure: 16:00

    Early in the morning, following the Hungarian lowlands, the ship will approach the Hungarian port of Mohacs.

    After breakfast on board we take a 40-minute bus transfer to the old town of Pecs (160.000 inhabitants) European Cultural capital in 2010, which is well-known for its numerous attractive galleries, museums and historical remains.

    The tour will start by the main Cathedral built in 11th century as a symbol of Pecs.

    The sightseeing of Pecs offers most fascinating sites of the main Szecheny Square and Kaptalan Street with its beautiful restored medieval houses, Town hall and Palace of Lorant.

    After the sightseeing, enjoy your free time in the main pedestrian zone on Ferencesek Street with possibility of visiting a numerous of small cosy shops and cafes.

    Scandinavian Christmas lunch onboard.

    Exit formalities in Mohacs.

    Sailing towards Novi Sad.

  • Novi Sad (04:00-09:00) / Belgrade 15:00-24:00)

    Early in the morning arrival to Novi Sad, the third biggest city in Serbia. The biggest cultural, historical and university centre of Vojvodina region, very nice historical place full of life, with a lot

    A bus sightseeing tour of the city, with a local guide.

    Departure to Krushedol Monastery on the mountain Fruska Gora, famous for its fresco paintings from the 15th century. The monastery is also a burial place for well known persons from the Serbian history, such as king Milan Obrenovic and Duchess Ljubica.

    From Krushedol monastery we will continue to Jarak, a small village in the Vojvodina region, in which surrounding we will have a lunch in a private house (farm). The lunch will be served in the garden, with local culinary specialities, season fruit, including sljivovica (plum brandy) and domestic wine, ad libitum and performance from local musicians.

    Returning to the ship in Belgrade harbour.

    After the dinner, about 9 p.m. Serbian folk dance performance by professional ensemble from Belgrade will be held on board the ship, in the bar. In between the dances, there is a special fashion show – promotion of “Sirogojno” – specialist for hand made sweaters of original wool with typical landscape motives on it.

    After breakfast 2,5 hrs city sightseeing tour, including a panoramic bus ride along the old part of Belgrade visiting the Kalemegdan Fortress and Park, the Orthodox Cathedral, Princess Ljubica’s Manor, continuing by the Town hall, The State Assembly, St. Mark’s Church, etc….

    Transfer to the airport for home flight.
